Does this tea contain caffeine, and can I drink it in the evening?

This blend is caffeine-free in the usual sense: it contains no leaves of the tea plant, so it is not black or green tea. Fireweed is naturally free of caffeine, which is why this type of infusion is often chosen as an alternative to regular tea in the second half of the day.

That said, the blend includes sagan daila, a wild rhododendron described in the product information as having an invigorating character. Even though there is no caffeine, the drink can feel noticeably awakening to some people. If you are sensitive to that kind of effect, it is sensible to have your first cup earlier in the day or at least to start with a small amount and see how you respond.

Moderation is also recommended for this blend because of sagan daila, so it is best not to brew it very strong or to drink it in large amounts throughout the day. The 100 g package is a loose-leaf blend, so you control the strength yourself each time.
