What should I do if my diet already includes other supplements with vitamin D?

Vitamin D3 is included in many combination supplements — multivitamins, calcium and vitamin formulas, fish oil capsules. If you or your child are already taking something similar, it is worth adding up the amount of vitamin D from all sources before adding these gummies.

Unlike water-soluble vitamins, vitamin D is fat-soluble: it accumulates in the body, and an excess caused by exceeding the dose over a long period may be undesirable. That is exactly why the label says not to exceed the recommended daily dose of 1–2 gummies (about 10–20 µg of vitamin D3).

A practical step: look at the labels of all the supplements you take and add up the amount of vitamin D (usually given in IU or µg). If the total is significantly higher than the standard recommendations for your age, consult a specialist about whether your intake needs adjusting.
