Suspensioon Doktor Izžogin combines two different mechanisms of action, and this is the main difference from simple neutralising products.
First, it contains calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate — they help reduce excess acidity more quickly, so that the burning and sour taste may become less pronounced. This is the effect that many ordinary products also provide.
Second, the key ingredient is sodium alginate, a substance derived from seaweed. In the acidic environment of the stomach it turns into a soft, viscous “barrier” that sits on top of the stomach contents and mechanically makes it harder for acid to rise into the oesophagus. This is why alginate products are often chosen when the discomfort is linked to reflux — for example, after a heavy meal, coffee, bending over or a late dinner.
The gel form also plays a part: the suspension covers the stomach contents more evenly than a tablet, which many people find more convenient when they want a quick soothing effect. A light mint flavour makes it more pleasant to take.
The label gives a course schedule: adults take 15 ml (1 tablespoon) 3 times a day after meals, shaken beforehand, for 4–6 weeks, without exceeding the recommended daily amount. If burning, pain, difficulty swallowing or acid reflux recur frequently, this is a reason to discuss the situation with a specialist.
