How does this drink differ from ordinary coffee, and why does it contain no caffeine?

The drink is based on chicory, not coffee beans. When roasted, chicory gives a rich, slightly bitter taste that many perceive as ‘coffee-like’, yet it contains no caffeine and has no stimulating effect on the nervous system.

Three plant ingredients with a taiga character have been added to the chicory:

  • Cedar extract gives the drink a coniferous, nutty note and makes the taste rounder and fuller.
  • Chaga, the birch fungus traditionally used in northern herbal practices, adds depth and a light woody note.
  • Red root (Hedysarum neglectum), a plant from the Siberian herbal tradition, is added to blends when you want a feeling of vigour without the sharp stimulating effect of strong coffee.

The result is a warm, mild taste with a light creamy and woody, nutty note, noticeably more delicate than a classic espresso. It is a fundamentally different product: it does not replace coffee like for like, but it can take its place in a morning or evening ritual for those who want to cut down on caffeine or simply try a different taste.

Please note: since the drink contains herbal ingredients, consult a specialist before drinking it if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have chronic conditions.
