Can this shampoo stain my shower, towels, or pillowcase, and how do I prevent it?

The ash-violet direct dye is highly concentrated to counteract yellow on very light hair, which means it transfers easily while wet. During application, any splashes on tile, grout, acrylic, or stone should be wiped off at once with a bathroom cleaner; once dried, the pigment can be difficult to remove. Rinse the shower tray or bath thoroughly after you finish rinsing your hair.

Use an old dark towel or a dedicated microfibre hair wrap to blot excess water — light-coloured towels will show violet stains that may not come out in a normal wash. Avoid leaning your wet head against light-coloured pillowcases, upholstery, or clothing until the hair is completely dry. If a stain does occur on fabric, pre-treat with a stain remover or oxygen-based bleach before laundering; do not use chlorine bleach, as it can react with the dye and set the stain.

Wearing gloves during application prevents stained fingernails and cuticles. If you do get pigment on skin, wash with soap and warm water immediately; a gentle exfoliating scrub or a little micellar water on a cotton pad usually removes residual colour.
