Can I use this on my face and if I have sensitive skin?

The instructions specify avoiding the eye area and irritated skin. The face has thinner skin, more sebaceous glands, and is more prone to stinging or irritation from 30% DEET, especially near the eyes, lips, and nostrils. If you choose to use this lotion on your face, apply a very small amount to your fingertips first, then dab lightly on the forehead, cheeks, and neck — avoiding the eye socket, lips, and nostrils entirely. Do not spray or rub near the eyes.

The formula includes aloe vera extract to help mitigate dryness and irritation, but individual tolerance varies. If you have sensitive skin, rosacea, eczema, or a history of reactions to repellents, do a patch test: apply a pea-sized amount on the inner forearm, wait 24 hours, and check for redness, itching, or burning before using more broadly.

For daily facial protection or for people who find 30% DEET too strong on the face, a dedicated facial repellent with a lower DEET concentration (e.g., 10–15%) or a PMD-only (Citriodiol) product may be more comfortable. You can also combine strategies: wear a wide-brim hat, use a head net in high-pressure areas, and apply this lotion only on the neck, ears, and exposed body areas.
