The cream contains fragrance — one of the most common irritants for reactive skin. That is why it makes sense to try the product on a limited area first. If your skin tends to react to scented cosmetics with redness, itching or breakouts, this step should not be skipped.
The patch test is done on clean, dry skin behind the ear or on the inside of the elbow. Apply a small drop of cream, rub it in and leave it for 12–24 hours. If no redness, burning, flaking or itching appears during this time, the cream can be used on the face with caution.
When applying it to the face for the first time, it is best to limit yourself to a thin layer on one part of the face (for example, a cheek or the chin) and observe for a day. If there is no reaction, the product is suitable for daily care. Even without an acute allergy, those with sensitive skin should introduce the cream gradually: use it once a day for 5–7 days, then move on to applying it twice a day.
If unpleasant sensations (tingling, redness, a rash) occur during use, stop using the cream. In that case, it is worth consulting a dermatologist or beautician to find a fragrance-free alternative.
Please note: if you have a chronic skin condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medication that affects the skin barrier, it is recommended to consult a specialist before using any cosmetic products.
