However, "gentle" does not mean "safe for all conditions." You should strictly avoid using this scrub on skin that is irritated, inflamed, sunburned, or freshly shaved, as the mechanical action of the crystals can cause stinging or micro-tears in compromised skin barriers.
The primary mechanical benefit of this scrub is the removal of dead surface cells that accumulate on the body. These cells can create a rough texture that causes body lotions, oils, or creams to sit on top of the skin rather than absorbing properly. By polishing away these rough patches, particularly on areas like elbows, knees, and legs, you create a smoother, more even surface.
