Use for laundry and cleaning.
Manufacturer: ZAO "Aist", St. Petersburg, Russia.
Household soap 72% 180 g is a classic solid soap traditionally used for laundry and household cleaning. People usually choose this type of soap when they want a simple, concentrated product for washing fabrics by hand, removing common dirt and handling various cleaning tasks around the home.
What the “72%” means
The “72%” marking refers to the content of fatty acids in the soap base. In practical terms, this means the bar washes effectively because soap molecules help bind grease and dirt so they can be rinsed away with water. This is why хозяйственное мыло has long been valued for tasks such as:
- Hand-washing clothes
- Cleaning workwear
- Washing small household items
- Pre-treating heavily soiled areas before the main wash
How to use it
The solid bar format is convenient when you need a product with many uses in one piece: it can be applied directly to damp fabric, worked into a lather for spot washing or used during general cleaning. Many people keep this kind of laundry soap at home for practical tasks such as:
- Washing socks
- Cleaning kitchen cloths
- Washing reusable cleaning textiles
- Cleaning surfaces that need a basic soap wash
Important notes
This product is best seen as a household cleaning soap rather than a face or body cleanser, as traditional 72% soap can feel quite strong on the skin. Keep these points in mind:
- If you have sensitive skin, it is wise to use gloves for longer cleaning tasks
- Avoid contact with the eyes
- Before using on delicate fabrics or special surfaces, test on a small area first

Customer Questions
The "72%" marking indicates the proportion of fatty acids in the soap base. This is a traditional industry standard for household soap in many countries. In practical terms, a higher fatty acid content means more soap molecules are available to surround and lift away grease, oil, and particulate dirt so they can be rinsed off with water. The 72% grade has been the benchmark for general-purpose laundry and cleaning soap for decades because it balances cleaning power with a firm bar that doesn't dissolve too quickly. Lower percentages (such as 65% or 60%) contain more fillers and water, so they wear down faster and require more product for the same cleaning task. This 180 g bar at 72% will last through many hand-wash sessions or spot treatments because the concentration is high — you only need a thin layer of lather on the fabric or surface.
This product is designed as a household cleaning soap, not a personal cleanser. The 72% fatty acid base that makes it effective on fabric grease and dirt also gives it a high pH (typically 9–10), which strips natural oils from skin much more aggressively than body soaps or shower gels formulated around pH 5.5–7. Occasional brief contact — like washing your hands after a cleaning task — is generally fine for most people, but regular use for bathing, face washing, or frequent hand washing will likely cause dryness, tightness, or irritation, particularly if you have sensitive skin, eczema, or a compromised skin barrier. If you must use it on skin, rinse thoroughly and follow with a fragrance-free moisturizer. For routine personal hygiene, choose a product labeled for body or hand use; those contain superfatting agents, glycerin, or milder surfactants that protect the skin's acid mantle.
For spot treatment, dampen the stained portion of the garment with cool or lukewarm water. Rub the soap bar directly on the stain to deposit a visible layer of lather, working it gently into the fibers with your fingers or a soft brush. Let the lather sit for 5–15 minutes — this gives the soap molecules time to emulsify oils and loosen particulate soils. For older or heavier stains (collar grime, cuff marks, food grease), you can leave it longer, up to 30 minutes, but avoid letting the soap dry completely on the fabric as it may leave a residue that requires extra rinsing. After the dwell time, wash the item by hand or machine as normal. Always test on an inside seam or hidden area first when treating wool, silk, viscose, or any fabric labeled "dry clean only" or "delicate," as the high pH and mechanical action can damage fibers or cause color loss. Rinse thoroughly; any remaining soap can stiffen fabric once dry.
