Botanika Jojoba Oil is 100% pure cosmetic-grade jojoba oil (Simmondsia chinensis seed oil), cold-pressed from the seeds of the jojoba plant native to arid regions of North America. Technically a liquid wax ester rather than a true oil (it contains long-chain wax esters rather than triglycerides), jojoba is one of the most widely used natural cosmetic oils due to its remarkable skin-compatibility, exceptional oxidative stability and lightweight, non-greasy texture.
Jojoba oil is notable for closely resembling the lipid composition of human sebum, which makes it very well-tolerated by all skin types, including combination and oily skin. It can be used as a pure face and body oil, as a carrier oil for essential oils, as an enrichment addition to creams and shampoos (up to 10 drops per 10 ml or per 100 ml of hair product), or as a cleansing and face mask oil. Shelf-stable under normal storage conditions. Net quantity: 50 ml.

What Jojoba Oil Is
Botanika Jojoba Oil is a pure cosmetic oil for skin, hair and nails, chosen when you want a simple, multi-use product with a light feel. Although commonly called an oil, jojoba is technically a liquid wax ester. This matters because its structure is very close to the skin's own sebum, so it spreads easily, absorbs well and usually feels less heavy than many plant oils.
Why It Suits Different Skin Types
This similarity to natural surface lipids helps the skin hold moisture better and reduces the feeling of dryness after washing or exposure to wind and indoor heating. At the same time, the texture is smooth rather than sticky, which is why Botanika cosmetic jojoba oil often suits not only dry skin, but also combination and oil-prone skin. Cold-pressed Simmondsia chinensis seed oil is also valued for its oxidative stability, meaning it stays more stable than many delicate vegetable oils and keeps its pleasant texture for longer under proper storage conditions.
How to Use It
People usually use jojoba oil in a few practical ways:
- Minimalistic face or body product — used on its own as a lightweight daily option.
- Softening step — applied to rough areas such as elbows or cuticles.
- Carrier oil for essential oils — dilutes them evenly before application.
- Addition to cream or shampoo — adds a richer texture without making the formula feel overly greasy.
- Hair lengths — helps smooth the surface of the strand, giving a softer, more polished look.
Jojoba has a long cosmetic history and has been appreciated especially in dry climates, where lightweight protection from moisture loss is important. This makes it a good option for those who prefer uncomplicated skincare, for travel, for massage blends, or for anyone looking for one bottle that can fit several uses at once.
Before You Use
As with any concentrated cosmetic oil, it is best to start with a small amount and see how your skin responds. External use only. If your skin is very reactive or you plan to mix it with essential oils, a patch test is a sensible first step.

Customer Questions
Although commonly referred to as an oil, Botanika Jojoba Oil is technically a liquid wax ester. This structural difference is significant because its composition closely resembles the sebum naturally produced by human skin. This similarity allows it to integrate well with the skin's lipid barrier without feeling overly heavy or sticky, which is why it is often suitable for combination and oil-prone skin types, not just dry skin.
Botanika Jojoba Oil is valued for its oxidative stability, meaning it stays more stable than many delicate vegetable oils. However, to ensure it keeps its pleasant texture and efficacy for longer, proper storage is essential. Keep the bottle in a cool, dry place, such as a bathroom cabinet or a drawer, rather than on a windowsill where it might be exposed to direct sunlight or heat.
One of the practical uses of Botanika Jojoba Oil is as a carrier oil for essential oils. Because of its smooth texture and ability to spread easily, it dilutes essential oils evenly before application. This is particularly useful for those who prefer uncomplicated skincare or are creating massage blends.
