Buriti palm (Mauritia flexuosa) — also known as the "tree of life" — is a majestic palm native to the tropical wetlands and gallery forests of the Amazon basin and surrounding regions of South America. The ripe orange-red buriti fruit yields one of the richest known plant-derived sources of beta-carotene (provitamin A), alongside a high concentration of oleic acid (omega-9 fatty acid) and tocopherols (vitamin E complex). Buriti oil has an exceptionally high carotenoid content that gives it a deep golden-orange hue and strong antioxidant and nourishing properties in skin care. At 40% active concentration in this formula, the buriti oil provides deep moisturisation, nourishment and skin softening, while helping to reduce the feeling of dryness.
