Unifarma Herbals Amla Vegetarian Capsules provide a concentrated extract of amla fruit (Emblica officinalis, syn. Phyllanthus emblica), the Indian gooseberry — one of the most revered fruits in the Ayurvedic tradition and one of the densest natural sources of vitamin C among all edible plants. Amla (Indian gooseberry) is a small, tart, light-green to yellow fruit of the Phyllanthus emblica tree, native to tropical and subtropical Asia. In terms of vitamin C content, fresh amla fruit contains an exceptionally high concentration of L-ascorbic acid, with values typically in the range of 600–800 mg per 100 g of fresh fruit — considerably higher than citrus fruits — and additionally features a range of tannins (emblicanin A and B, punigluconin, pedunculagin), flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol), phyllemblic compounds and other polyphenols. Amla is one of the three fruits comprising Triphala, the renowned Ayurvedic poly-botanical combination. EU authorised vitamin C health claims: vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

UNIFARMA HERBALS Amla capsules N60 are a food supplement with concentrated Emblica officinalis fruit extract, also known as Indian gooseberry. People usually choose amla when they want a plant-based source of vitamin C and a traditional herbal ingredient with a long history of use in Ayurveda. This fruit is naturally tart and rich not only in vitamin C, but also in polyphenols such as tannins and flavonoids.
In plain language, vitamin C helps the immune system do its job and contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Oxidative stress happens when unstable molecules formed during normal metabolism, intense exercise, pollution or lack of sleep put pressure on cells. Amla is interesting because its vitamin C comes together with naturally occurring plant compounds like emblicanins, quercetin and kaempferol. These substances do not replace vitamin C, but they make amla a broader botanical ingredient than a simple single-nutrient supplement.
The capsule form makes this herb easy to include in a busy schedule without the sharp sour taste of the fresh fruit. UNIFARMA HERBALS uses a vegetarian capsule with amla fruit extract, which is convenient for people who prefer herbal food supplements over chewables or powders. It may suit those looking for seasonal immune support, extra antioxidant intake during periods of stress, travel or irregular meals, or an Ayurvedic-style addition to a balanced regimen.
Amla also has a respected place in traditional Indian herbal practice and is one of the three fruits used in Triphala. That background is part of why many people recognise it as more than just a vitamin C source. At the same time, this is still a supplement rather than a medicine, so expectations should stay realistic: it can complement a varied diet, not replace it.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or choosing supplements for a child, it is sensible to check with a healthcare professional before use. Follow the label instructions and avoid combining high-dose products without a clear reason.
