This cream is designed as a daytime moisturising and nourishing step. After cleansing your face in the morning, apply a small amount — roughly a pea-sized portion — to the face and neck while the skin is still slightly damp. This helps lock in maximum hydration. Let it absorb for a minute or two before layering sunscreen or makeup; the texture is formulated to sit well under both without pilling. If your skin feels particularly tight after cleansing, you can press the cream in gently with your palms rather than rubbing, which reduces friction on mature skin. There is no need to wait for a specific "dry-down" time; once the surface feels comfortable, you can proceed. In the evening, you may prefer a richer night product, but if your skin is very dry, this cream can also be used as the final step of a night routine.
"Phyto" refers to plant-derived ingredients. In this formula, botanical extracts are included to help reduce the sensation of dryness and make the skin feel more supple. The cream base — the emulsion that carries those extracts — creates a light protective film on the surface that slows transepidermal water loss. For skin 45+, which often produces less natural oil and holds moisture less effectively, this combination addresses two things at once: the extracts improve how the skin feels (comfort, elasticity), while the occlusive layer keeps the hydration you just added from evaporating too quickly.
