This type of sling is widely used to provide functional rest and support to the arm and elbow joint during the recovery period following arm injuries, elbow and forearm disorders, and post-surgical or post-traumatic situations involving the upper limb.
The device unloads the elbow joint and relieves mechanical stress on the various segments of the upper limb — including the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow — by transferring the weight of the arm to the neck and shoulder area via a comfortable textile neck strap. The support positions the arm in a comfortable, slightly elevated angle that reduces dependent oedema and supports recovery. USE: Apply per the fitting instructions on the packaging. Position the arm in the sling so the forearm is supported at approximately 90 degrees and the hand is slightly elevated. Adjust the neck strap for comfortable shoulder-area support.
