Dihydroquercetin has a potent hydrogen-donating antioxidant mechanism, with measured in vitro antioxidant activity among the highest of natural bioflavonoids. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is the well-established water-soluble antioxidant vitamin. Authorised EU health claims for vitamin C include: vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
