Medikomed Melon Cosmetic Oil is a cold-pressed cosmetic oil extracted from melon seeds (Cucumis melo L.) using the mechanical cold-pressing method, without the use of chemical solvents or heat treatment, preserving the complete natural fatty acid and phytonutrient profile of the melon seed. Melon seed oil is a light, non-greasy vegetable oil with a mild, pleasant aroma, naturally rich in linoleic acid (omega-6) — the dominant essential fatty acid in the oil — which has a well-established role in maintaining the skin's lipid barrier and providing conditioning and moisturising properties. The oil also contains oleic acid (omega-9), palmitic acid, tocopherols (natural vitamin E) and phytosterols. As a cosmetic oil, it provides a smooth skin feel, excellent spreadability and good skin absorption without leaving a heavy, greasy residue. Suitable for use as a facial and body care oil and as a cosmetic enrichment component.

Medikomed Melon Cosmetic Seed Oil is a cold-pressed facial and body oil made from Cucumis melo seeds. People usually choose this type of plant oil when they want something light, fast-absorbing and non-greasy for skin that dislikes heavy textures. It can be used on its own, added to a bath, or mixed into a cream, serum or body lotion to make the texture feel softer and more nourishing.
What makes melon seed oil interesting is its fatty acid profile. It is naturally rich in linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid that helps reinforce the skin’s protective lipid layer. In simple terms, this barrier helps reduce excessive moisture loss and leaves the surface feeling smoother and less tight. The oil also contains oleic acid, which improves glide and softness, plus tocopherols and phytosterols — plant compounds valued in cosmetics for their antioxidant role and for helping the skin feel supple. Because the oil is mechanically cold-pressed, the seed’s natural lipid and phytonutrient profile is preserved without heat or solvents.
This cosmetic oil suits people who prefer minimalist formulas, want to enrich an existing moisturiser, or need a lighter alternative to richer plant oils. It can fit well into an evening facial ritual, after bathing on slightly damp skin, or in hand and foot soaks when the skin feels dry from weather, water or frequent washing. The texture spreads easily and absorbs well, so it is also a practical option for those who enjoy body oils but do not want a heavy finish.
Although often grouped with essential oils in online catalogues, this product is actually a vegetable seed oil rather than a concentrated essential oil. That means it works mainly by supplying skin-friendly lipids rather than by strong aromatic actives. For many people, this makes it a gentler option for regular cosmetic use.
For external use only. If your skin is very reactive, or if you have an allergy to melon or other Cucurbitaceae plants, patch testing is especially important before broader use. Avoid the eye area, and if you are adding it to other cosmetics, keep the amount moderate so the final texture remains pleasant on the skin.
