Why do the capsules contain olive oil — does it affect absorption?

Vitamin D3 is one of the fat-soluble vitamins: it needs a fatty medium to be absorbed in the intestine. In Vitateka capsules, olive oil is included directly in the formula, so each capsule already contains the necessary fat carrier.

In practice, this means you do not need to plan to take it specifically with fatty food or add oil separately — the fat matrix is already built into the product form. At the same time, taking it with an ordinary meal is perfectly appropriate and does not interfere in any way: food does not reduce its effectiveness, and some people simply find it more comfortable not to take capsules on an empty stomach.

Olive oil was not chosen by chance: it has a neutral taste, combines well with fat-soluble nutrients and is widely used in formulas of this kind. The capsule form also prevents the oil from coming into contact with air until it is taken, which is important for the stability of the contents.

So the olive oil in the formula is a functional component, not a flavouring. It is precisely the combination of cholecalciferol with a fat carrier that makes the capsule form a convenient alternative to oil drops, where the dose has to be measured out by hand.
