Why take folic acid separately if it is already in multivitamins? — Folic Acid with Vitamins B12 and B6, tab 40

Multivitamin complexes usually contain folic acid, but the amount varies from product to product. Some complexes contain 200–400 µg, others more or less. If you are planning a pregnancy or a doctor has recommended a specific dose of B9, a separate product with a clearly stated amount — 600 µg per tablet — lets you know exactly how much folate you are getting each day.

In addition, some people deliberately top up B vitamins in particular — for example, with an unbalanced diet, restrictive diets or an increased workload. In such cases a separate B9 is more convenient than reworking the whole multivitamin regimen.

Important: if you are already taking a prenatal complex or other supplements with B vitamins, add up the folate content from all sources. The recommended daily amount of this product is 1 tablet with a meal, and it must not be exceeded; the product is not taken if you are hypersensitive to any of its ingredients. During pregnancy, while breastfeeding or when taking medicines, it is best to agree on the dosage with a doctor or pharmacist.
