Most dishes are mixed: a plate with meat, a grain side dish, a salad and a piece of cheese contains proteins, fats, starch, lactose and plant fibres all at once. A single enzyme deals only with its own substrate, so single-enzyme supplements make sense for a narrow task — for example, lactose intolerance. When the food is varied, a multi-enzyme formula covers several areas at once.
OstroVit DigeZyme uses the DigeZyme® enzyme complex, in which:
Amylase breaks down complex carbohydrates — grains, bread, potatoes;
Protease takes part in processing proteins — meat, fish, legumes;
Lipase works on fats — oils, fatty sauces, nuts;
Lactase helps digest milk sugar — relevant for sensitivity to dairy products;
Cellulase acts on plant fibres — vegetables, greens, bran.
This formula is especially appropriate when eating patterns are irregular: when travelling, at celebrations, with heavy lunches or dinners, when it is hard to control what a dish contains. If the discomfort is linked to one specific food (for example, milk only), it is worth discussing with a specialist whether a complex is needed or a single targeted enzyme is enough.
