Bar soap can leave skin feeling tight after washing, because it removes not only dirt but also part of the skin's natural surface oil. This formula includes glycerin to reduce that effect: glycerin attracts moisture, so the skin tends to feel less tight after rinsing than it would with a soap without it.
That makes the bar a more comfortable option for frequent washing, such as handwashing after outdoor play or a daily evening bath. It does not change how the soap cleans — the sodium salts of fatty acids still lift away dirt and excess oil — while glycerin simply balances how the skin feels afterwards.
Individual skin varies, so some children may still feel or look dry after washing. Simple adjustments usually help: use lukewarm instead of hot water, rinse all lather off completely, and pat the skin dry rather than rubbing. If dryness or any irritation continues, stop using the product and ask a pharmacist or doctor for advice.
