Will this shower gel dry out my skin after rinsing?

This is a fresher, gel-type body wash rather than a creamy, high-fat cleanser. The surfactants lift sweat, excess sebum, sunscreen and city dust, but they are described as having “less drag” than harsher soap-style formulas, so the skin is not pulled as dry. The formula includes glycerin, which helps hold water on the skin surface, so after rinsing the skin should feel smoother rather than tight.

If you have normal or combination skin, this type of cleanser is usually enough on its own. For very dry or easily reactive skin, the refreshing essential oils (peppermint and lime, plus passion fruit extract) and the lighter cleansing base can feel more active, so following with a body lotion is a good idea. The product itself is not designed to moisturize the skin on its own.

A few practical points:

  • Use lukewarm water. Hot water strips the skin faster than the shower gel does, especially in a long shower.
  • If you feel any stinging, redness or unusual dryness after use, stop and switch to a fragrance-light, milder body wash.
  • Avoid using this gel on already irritated or damaged skin.

If your skin stays comfortable and clean after a few uses, you can keep it as part of your daily shower routine.
