The serum is formulated as a high-concentration liquid with low viscosity, meaning it spreads thinly and absorbs in roughly 30–60 seconds on most skin types. Because it leaves minimal surface film — no heavy silicones, waxes, or thick polymers — it rarely pills when you apply sunscreen or foundation over it, provided you let it fully absorb first. Pilling usually happens when a product hasn’t dried down or when incompatible formulas (e.g., a silicone-heavy primer over a water-based serum) are rubbed together aggressively. To minimize risk: press the serum in gently rather than rubbing, wait until the skin feels dry to the touch, then apply sunscreen in a pressing motion. In warm, humid conditions the lightweight finish stays comfortable; in very dry climates you may want a slightly richer moisturizer on top to lock in the hydration the serum provides (glycosaminoglycans, aloe, cucumber). If you use a mineral sunscreen that tends to sit on the surface, a light moisturizer between serum and SPF can improve spreadability.
