This is a permanent oxidative cream color, which means the dye cream is mixed with a developer before use. During processing, color molecules form inside the hair shaft rather than just coating the outside. That is why the coverage lasts longer than a wash-out or temporary product and why the shade stays stable for weeks.
The product concept states that it can cover a high percentage of gray hair. In practice, gray hair is often more resistant because the cuticle can be tighter and coarser, especially in a beard. The same shade may look slightly different on different areas if your beard has uneven porosity. That is normal for permanent color.
To get the most even result, do a patch test at least 48 hours before use, then test the color on a small hidden section of your beard or hair. Apply the mixture to clean, dry hair and follow the processing time in the instructions. If a few gray strands are stubborn, you can extend the processing time slightly, but never exceed the maximum time given for the product. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.
Do not expect a flat, opaque 'shoe-polish' effect. The goal is a natural-looking depth that blends gray strands and makes the beard look more defined. If you are unsure whether dark brown 03 is right for you, testing on a hidden section first is the safest way to judge the result.
