Will this balm weigh down fine or oily hair?

The formula contains organic wheat germ oil, wild blueberry seed oil, and a mineral complex with calcium phosphate that together create a substantive coating on the hair shaft. This is exactly what gives damaged, porous hair the smoother, fuller feel described in the product information, but on very fine strands the same coating can read as weight or greasiness. If your hair is fine, start with a pea-sized amount applied strictly to the last 3–5 cm of the ends — nowhere near the roots. Rinse for an extra 15–20 seconds under lukewarm water; the volcanic clay particles are fine but dense, and they need thorough mechanical removal. Some people with fine hair prefer to use this balm only 1–2 times per week as a targeted treatment for the ends, alternating with a lighter daily conditioner on other washes. If your scalp gets oily quickly, the black alder and juniper extracts provide a mild astringent sensation at the roots, but they are not strong enough to counteract the oils in the balm if you apply it too high. A practical test: after the first use, let hair air-dry without styling products. If the roots look flat or the hair feels coated rather than smooth, reduce the amount and move the application zone further down the shaft next time.
