Will shade No. 1 Black cover grey hair without looking flat or unnatural?

No. 1 Black is a deep black shade, and this product is designed for men who want to refresh dark hair, beard or moustache and blend grey strands into that shade. Because it is an oxidative colourant, the colour develops inside the hair shaft instead of coating only the surface. In practice, that supports a more even result and stronger grey coverage in one application.

How natural the result looks depends mainly on how close the shade is to your own base colour. If your natural hair is very dark or black, No. 1 Black reads as a refresh rather than a new colour. If your natural colour is medium or light, a deep black result will usually look heavier and more contrasted. The general rule for shade selection applies here: when you are between two shades, choose the one closest to your natural hair colour.

The finish can also differ between parts of the same head. Beard and moustache hair is often coarser and more porous, so it can absorb the colour faster and sometimes turn out darker or more intense than the scalp hair. Keeping an eye on the development time, especially on the first use, helps you stop the process before the colour becomes too dark.

The tube contains 80 ml. How far it goes depends on the length and density of the hair and on how thickly you apply the cream, so there is no single answer that fits everyone.
