Elfa Pharm INDIAN HENNA Neutral is made from cassia, a plant powder often called neutral henna. Unlike traditional henna that gives copper-red colour, this product is used mainly as a botanical hair mask and conditioner, so it is not intended for intensive colouring. On light, grey, bleached, or chemically processed hair, the powder can leave a faint warm golden nuance, while on darker hair the tone change is usually minimal or not visible.
Because plant powders can react a little differently from person to person, it is useful to do a strand test before applying the paste to your whole head. Mix a small amount of the powder with hot water into a paste, apply it to a hidden section of clean, dry or damp hair, leave it on for the same time you plan to use on the full head, then rinse and let it dry. Check the result in daylight to see whether any warmth appears and whether the texture feels right to you.
If the test shows a tone you do not want, you can reduce the time the paste stays in the hair or skip full application and use the product only on stronger pigmented lengths. If the result is acceptable, you can prepare a fresh batch for the whole head. This step is especially worth doing if your hair is very light, grey, or previously treated, since those bases show plant tones most clearly.
