It comes from the dense concentration of fulvic and humic acids, dibenzo-α-pyrones, and the broad spectrum of plant-derived minerals. This flavor profile reflects its origin as a mineral exudate that seeps from rock crevices, and its absence would often indicate a highly processed or diluted product.

If the taste is too strong, dissolving the resin in a larger cup of warm water, plant-based milk, or a mild herbal tea can help. Adding a small amount of honey (though this alters the traditional preparation) is another common method. The taste is typically experienced only briefly while drinking the dissolved mixture.
