Why does the coconut oil turn solid in winter, and is it still good to use?

SATTVA Coconut Oil is a pure Cocos nucifera oil with no additives or stabilizers, meaning its texture responds directly to ambient temperature. It is completely normal for the oil to become solid and opaque when the temperature drops below approximately 24°C (75°F). This physical change does not indicate that the product has gone bad, separated, or lost its nutritional and cosmetic value.

When solid, the oil has a firm, balm-like consistency that is easy to scoop out with a clean, dry spoon. If you prefer it in liquid form for easier pouring or mixing into drinks, you can gently warm the jar by placing it in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. Avoid heating it directly in a microwave or on a stove, as excessive heat can degrade the quality of the fats. Once melted, it will return to a clear liquid state. This temperature sensitivity is a hallmark of unrefined, pure plant oils and confirms the absence of hydrogenated fats or artificial waxes.
