Who should avoid this product or be extra cautious before using it?

This product contains essential oils, propolis and lanolin, so it may not suit everyone. People with very reactive skin or a known sensitivity to bee products, wool-derived ingredients, limonene or linalool should be cautious. Limonene and linalool are common fragrance components found in many essential oils and can irritate some skin types, even though they occur naturally in plant oils.

Before the first use, apply a tiny amount to a small patch of skin, for example behind the ear or on the inner wrist, and wait to see if any redness or itching appears. This is a sensible check for any balm that contains several plant extracts. If you develop irritation after applying it to the nose, stop using it immediately and rinse the area with water.

The product is described as suitable for adults and older children. For babies and younger children, the essential oils and propolis make it a less obvious choice; check with a pharmacist or doctor before using it on a child who is not old enough to tell you if it stings or bothers them. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a chronic skin condition, or are using other medication, it is prudent to consult a specialist before adding a new herbal balm to your routine.

Remember to use it only on the outer nose and surrounding skin, never deep inside the nostrils, and keep the product out of the reach of small children.
