When is this elastic lumbar belt useful, and how long should I wear it at a time?

This LAUMA belt is designed to provide gentle compression and stabilisation around the lumbar area and abdomen. It may be useful during tasks where the lower back feels tired or exposed to strain, such as physical work, gardening, lifting loads, long periods of standing, or extended driving. Some people also choose this type of belt when they want the lumbar area to feel warmer and more protected in cool indoor air or draughts.

The belt is not meant to replace muscle activity or professional advice. A practical approach is to wear it during the part of the day when support is most needed, then remove it during rest periods so the muscles continue to work naturally. For example, it can be put on before a physically demanding task and taken off once the task is finished, rather than being worn automatically all day.

Compression should remain comfortable throughout use. If you notice discomfort, tingling, pressure that feels too strong, skin irritation, or increasing pain, remove the belt and reassess the fit. During rehabilitation, use it only in the way recommended by your specialist, because the right duration and compression level can depend on your situation.
