If your skin often reacts to new cosmetics, introduce this cream slowly rather than applying it to the whole face immediately. The formula includes verbena and peony extracts, which are used for soothing and conditioning care, as well as wheat germ, almond, linseed and olive oils. These ingredients can be helpful for dryness, but people with very reactive skin may still prefer to test tolerance first.
To patch test, apply a small amount to a discreet area such as the side of the jaw or behind the ear and leave it on as you would normally use a face cream. Watch for signs that the product does not suit you, such as persistent stinging, unusual redness, itching or discomfort. If the area stays comfortable, try using it on the face every other evening at first, then increase frequency if your skin responds well.
Be especially cautious if your skin barrier already feels stressed from over-cleansing, cold weather, exfoliating products or strong active ingredients. In that situation, keep the rest of the routine simple while testing the cream, so you can more easily understand how your skin responds. Do not apply it to broken or irritated skin, and stop use if discomfort continues.
