If your skin is very reactive, introduce SATTVA rose water carefully before using it as a regular toner. The product information notes that rose oil can be too much for some people, and fragrant botanical preparations are best tested first even when they look gentle.
Do a patch test a day or two before the first full use. Apply a tiny amount to the inside of your forearm or behind the ear and leave it there for up to 24 hours. Check for redness, itching, burning or swelling. If any of these appear, do not use the product on your face. Patch testing is especially important if you already know you react to fragrant cosmetics.
If the patch test is fine, start slowly. Use the toner a few times a week rather than morning and evening, and pay attention to delayed reactions. Avoid the eye area, and do not apply it to broken, sunburnt or otherwise damaged skin. If you have a chronic skin condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medication, consult a specialist before adding a new fragrant cosmetic to your routine.
