The formula includes several potential sensitizers: menthol, camphor, eucalyptus oil, and a blend of plant extracts (chamomile, lemon balm, yarrow, fennel, hops, valerian, mistletoe). Even though chamomile and lemon balm are considered soothing, they can trigger contact allergy in people sensitized to the Asteraceae/Compositae family. The alcohol base, while giving a light finish, can impair barrier function on already-compromised skin. Before first use, apply a rice-grain amount to the inner forearm, wait 15–30 minutes, and check for redness, itching, or burning. If any reaction occurs, do not use. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, topical menthol and camphor are generally considered low risk in small amounts, but systemic absorption through large-area or frequent application has not been well studied; consult your midwife or physician. The same applies if you have a chronic skin condition (eczema, psoriasis, rosacea), take photosensitizing medication, or use prescription topicals on the same area. Keep out of reach of children — the cooling sensation may tempt ingestion, and camphor is toxic if swallowed. Store at room temperature, cap tightly after use to prevent alcohol evaporation.
