Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, so it penetrates the sebum inside the pore and helps dissolve the mixture of oil and dead skin cells that forms the "plug" visible as a blackhead (open comedone). With consistent use (2–3 times weekly over several weeks), this can make existing blackheads less noticeable and reduce the formation of new ones. The tea tree oil adds antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory support, while green tea extract supplies catechins that calm oxidative stress on the skin surface during cleansing.
However, no wash-off mask can permanently change pore size — pore diameter is largely genetic and structural. What you'll see is a temporary reduction in the appearance of pores because they're cleared of oxidised sebum and debris, not because the pore itself has shrunk. Deep, hardened blackheads (especially on the nose) often need a combination of consistent BHA use, occasional professional extractions, and possibly a leave-on BHA product for daily maintenance; a weekly mask alone may not fully clear them.
Also, this is not a treatment for inflammatory acne (papules, pustules, cysts). It's a cosmetic purifying step for congestion and shine. If you have active inflammatory breakouts, a dermatologist can recommend appropriate medical options (benzoyl peroxide, topical/oral antibiotics, retinoids) alongside a gentle routine.
