What does the coconut oil in this massage oil actually do for the skin?

KEHAMASSAAŽI ÕLI "KOOKOSPÄHKEL" 250ML

The formula is based on a plant oil complex that includes natural coconut oil. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids, including lauric acid, which are used in body cosmetics as emollients. In practical terms, emollients help reduce surface roughness and limit moisture loss from the skin, which is why the skin can feel softer after a massage rather than only lubricated.

This matters for massage because the oil needs to do two jobs at once. First, it helps your hands glide over the body without dragging, which is especially useful for longer sessions. Second, the oil stays on the skin and continues to condition it during the massage, so the finish tends to feel soft rather than overly greasy or tight.

It is still an oil, so absorption depends on how much you use and how dry your skin is. On dry-prone body skin you may want to use slightly more and leave a thin layer behind; on skin that already feels oily, a smaller amount is usually enough. If the oily feeling lasts too long for your taste, pat off the residue after the massage with a soft towel. This product is a cosmetic massage oil, not a medication, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any skin disease.
