Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) has a long history in Slavic herbal tradition, where it is known as živokost, "the bone-knitter". It was traditionally used in folk recipes for tired joints, bruises and rough skin. In cosmetics, however, its role is different: the extract is valued for its content of allantoin, a natural compound that softens the upper layer of the epidermis and makes the skin feel more supple.
In this cream, comfrey works alongside the scorpion venom peptide. The two ingredients address different aspects: the peptide helps with the look of expression lines and micro-relief, while the allantoin from comfrey contributes to softness and suppleness. This combination of a traditional herbal extract and a modern peptide is the core idea of the product.
It is important to note that comfrey in cosmetics is used for its skin-softening effect, not for medicinal purposes. This is a cosmetic product and does not treat joint, vein or hormonal conditions. If you are sensitive to herbal extracts, check the ingredient list or consult a specialist before use.
