What does Cedar & Litsea smell like, and will it be too strong?

The fragrance is a deliberate blend of two distinct notes. Cedar provides a deep, resinous, woody character that evokes a traditional sauna atmosphere—it feels grounding. Litsea cubeba oil adds a brighter, fresher, citrus-like tone (often compared to a blend of lemon and verbena) that lifts the composition, preventing it from becoming heavy or overly sombre. Together, they create a balanced aroma suitable for both rustic steam rooms and modern bathrooms.

The perceived strength is not like a room spray but is released and carried by steam, which naturally diffuses and dilutes the scent in the air. This makes it less concentrated and more enveloping than a direct spray. You control the intensity by the amount you use. The advice to 'start with a moderate amount' is crucial if you are sensitive to fragrances; you can always add more in a subsequent session. The heat-activated diffusion means the scent will be most noticeable in the steamiest part of your session and will linger lightly on wooden surfaces afterwards. Avoid using it in very small, unventilated spaces if you are concerned about intensity.
