The Ice Dragon grey is a direct pigment toner, not an oxidative dye, so it deposits colour onto the hair surface rather than lifting or permanently altering your natural pigment. This means the outcome is entirely dictated by what you start with:
- Very light blonde or bleached hair (level 9–10): You’ll see the truest, coolest silver-grey — the "Ice Dragon" shade as shown on the pack.
- Medium to dark blonde (level 7–8): The pigment acts like a sheer veil, muting warmth and adding a smoky, ash cast rather than a full grey transformation.
- Naturally grey or white hair: The toner intensifies the existing cool tone, giving a more defined, metallic silver finish.
- Darker or unbleached hair: Little to no visible change; direct pigments cannot show up on a dark base.
Porosity also matters: overly porous, damaged ends may grab more pigment and turn darker or cooler than the mid-lengths. If your hair is unevenly lightened, do a strand test on a hidden section first — leave it on for the full recommended time, rinse, dry, and assess before committing to the whole head.
