Several active ingredients work on different aspects of dry hair:
- Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant ingredient in cosmetic formulas. It is included to help protect the hair fibre from external stress that is linked with dryness and loss of smoothness.
- A complex of amino acids matters because hair is largely made of protein. Amino-acid ingredients are commonly used in repairing conditioners to help fill weakened, uneven areas along the shaft, with the goal of improving flexibility, reducing a fragile feel and making the surface look more even.
- Organic evening primrose oil provides linoleic acid and is included to help hair feel less coarse and more supple by improving moisture retention along the fibre.
- Organic Icelandic moss extract is used for its softening and moisture-balancing properties, which is useful when dry lengths feel straw-like instead of smooth.
This combination is meant to give both emollient nourishment and lightweight hydration. That is useful for hair that feels dry and porous but does not respond well to heavy, greasy coatings. The effects are cosmetic: easier combing, a softer feel and a more even-looking surface.
