When is it better not to use the product on your own and to consult a doctor first? — Plantain Cosmetic Product, 3 ml-Golden Pharm

The product is intended for external spot application on warts and papillomas with a dense keratinised structure. However, it is not always easy to tell such a growth apart visually from a mole, a keratoma or another skin growth. If you have even the slightest doubt about what exactly you are dealing with, show the growth to a dermatologist first. An aggressive alkaline liquid must not be applied to a mole — the label states plainly: “Do not remove moles!”

You should also refrain from using it on your own if:

  • the growth is on the face, neck, groin or another delicate area — the risk of damaging the surrounding tissue is higher;
  • the skin around it is irritated, inflamed or damaged;
  • the growth bleeds, itches, is growing quickly or has changed in appearance — these are reasons for an examination, not for cosmetic treatment;
  • you plan to use the product on a child — children’s skin is more sensitive, and such decisions are best made together with a paediatrician or dermatologist.

The product contains potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide — substances with a pronounced chemical action. If you have sensitive skin or react unusually to the first application, it is sensible to consult a specialist before continuing the course. If you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, do not use the product; in case of an allergic reaction, stop using it and see a doctor; for external use only.
