The product is called “organic oil” but described as flour — what exactly is inside?

LINASEEMNEJAHU 500 g organic oil is actually organic flaxseed flour despite the “oil” in the name. The product description explains that it is ground flaxseed meant for baking and cooking. It is not a liquid oil and it is not used for frying or dressing like a seed oil.

What makes flaxseed flour useful is that it behaves like a wholegrain flour with more character. It is naturally rich in protein and fibre, absorbs water, and gives batters and doughs a thicker, denser structure. The flavour is mildly nutty, so it adds more taste than neutral white flour.

You can use it in homemade bread, crackers, pancakes and savoury bakes, or stir a spoonful into porridge, yoghurt, kefir, or a smoothie to thicken it and make it more filling. Because it is high in fibre, treat it like other fibre-rich ingredients: start with a small amount if it is new to you, and drink enough fluid during the day.
