This means a single patch is worn for 24 hours without being removed early: it is the prolonged contact with the skin that provides the warming effect and the even action of the plant components — devil's claw, arnica and willow.

A few practical points:

• Where to apply. Choose clean, dry, undamaged skin. Rich creams or lotions applied shortly beforehand weaken adhesion, so it is better to let the skin ‘breathe’ before use.
• Hold. The patch sits snugly against the body, so it is comfortable to wear during the working day, while travelling or during sleep — it does not shift when you move.
• Removal. After 24 hours the patch is replaced. If the skin underneath turns red, or you feel burning or itching stronger than the usual warming sensation, remove it earlier and let the skin rest.
• Reuse. The patch is single-use; a used patch should not be applied again.
