The oil with burdock extract is quite a dense product, and the right technique matters if it is to wash out well. The main rule: shampoo is applied to dry or slightly damp oil, not after you have wet your head. If you wet your hair first, the oil forms a film that the shampoo will struggle to break through. Apply shampoo directly to the oiled hair, lather it up and then rinse with water, repeating if necessary.
According to the instructions, the warm oil is left on the roots for 20–30 minutes and then washed out with shampoo. If you want a more intense warming effect from the red pepper, you can put on a shower cap, as the warmth will intensify the sensation. However, if your scalp is sensitive, it is better to start at the lower end, around 20 minutes, to see how it reacts.
After rinsing, you can wash your hair as usual and apply conditioner or a mask to the lengths if this is part of your normal hair care routine. The oil does not interfere with the later steps of the routine.
If you notice some residual greasiness at the roots after the first use, try using less oil next time: a thin layer on the scalp is enough, without any excess.
