Violet belongs to the mild, neutral-tasting herbs, so it works well as a background component in a blend — it does not overpower other plants but adds to the overall herbal note. Among the classic combinations are mint (adds freshness), chamomile (softens the taste, makes the infusion rounder) and linden (gives a light sweetness and floral aroma).
When putting together your own blend, it is convenient to start with simple two- or three-ingredient combinations. For example, violet with chamomile in a 1:1 ratio gives a mild, unobtrusive drink. Adding a small amount of mint (about a quarter of the total volume) freshens the taste without the mint dominating.
The finished blend is best stored in a tightly closed glass or tin container, away from direct light and moisture — this preserves the aroma of each component. The loose format of the herb is convenient precisely because it lets you mix herbs in the proportions you want and change the blend's composition according to the season or mood.
If you take any medication or have chronic conditions, it is worth consulting a specialist before regularly drinking herbal blends.
