Is it normal for the skin to darken after application, or has something gone wrong?

Darkening is an expected and normal sign that the product is working. It is during this process that the treated area darkens.

This is not a burn in the everyday sense and not an allergy — it is a visible sign that the tissue is changing and the upper layer is beginning to separate naturally. Do not try to remove the darkened area mechanically ahead of time: the process should be allowed to finish on its own.

A burning sensation during the procedure is also possible and is linked to the way the formula works. If the burning is very strong or spreads beyond the treated area, this is a sign that the product has got onto healthy skin. In that case, rinse the area under running water straight away for 10–15 minutes.

It is important to remember that the product should be applied strictly to the spot, without touching the surrounding skin. If the reaction seems excessive or the area does not heal within a reasonable time, it is best to consult a specialist.
