With a desk job or on long flights, venous return from the legs is hindered: the calf muscles hardly work, and blood returns upwards less efficiently. By the end of the working day or after a flight, this is often felt as heaviness, a feeling of fullness or slight puffiness in the lower legs and ankles.
The gel-balm contains ingredients that are traditionally used in cosmetics precisely for this situation: horse chestnut extract and troxerutin — to reduce the feeling of fullness; sweet clover — in formulas that support venous return; and butcher's broom — for the tone of the vessel wall. It is not a substitute for medical measures, but as part of an evening routine the product can be a handy addition to your usual schedule.
In practice: the gel is applied 3 times a day to clean, dry skin with massaging movements from the bottom up — one of the applications is conveniently done in the evening after a shower, once the skin has dried. If you have a long flight ahead, you can also use it before boarding the plane — the light texture will not leave marks on clothing.
Alongside the use of cosmetic products, people with a sedentary lifestyle are usually advised to take short walking breaks, stretch their calves right at their workplace and drink enough fluids — all of this affects the condition of the leg vessels no less than external care.
