One of the practical advantages of a single-ingredient powder is that it contains no additional active substances that could duplicate the composition of other supplements. If you already take, for example, collagen, a joint formula or multivitamins, MSM powder will not add extra ingredients on top of them.
There are, however, a few practical points to consider:
Check the composition of what you already take. Some joint and ligament formulas already contain MSM. In that case, taking the powder as well may lead to excessive intake of the same component.
How to mix it. The daily dose — 2 g (2 scoops of 1 ml) — is stirred into 100–150 ml of water or juice. This makes it easy to include in your usual morning or post-workout ritual.
When to take it. According to the instructions, the powder is taken once a day, preferably 30 minutes before a meal; it is convenient to do this at the same time every day — this helps you not to miss a dose and to assess the result with regular use.
If you take medicines on a regular basis or have a chronic condition, it is worth consulting a specialist before adding any new product to your diet. MSM is intended for adults only: it is not used for children or by pregnant or breastfeeding women, nor in cases of intolerance to its components. The product may contain traces of milk (including lactose), soy, peanuts, nuts, sesame, oats, eggs, crustaceans and fish.
