Can BIOLIT sea buckthorn oil be used both internally and on the skin — or is it better to choose one? — Sea Buckthorn Oil 100 ml - Biolit

BIOLIT Astelpajuõli is designed from the outset for both uses — it is an edible oil that is also suitable for applying to the skin. The only difference is the purpose you have in mind.

Taking it internally is chosen as a way of adding carotenoids to the diet — natural pigments, some of which serve as precursors of vitamin A. The oil form helps fat-soluble substances to be absorbed better, so it is convenient to take with food. It is usually taken in courses rather than continuously.

External application is relevant when the skin needs extra nourishment: after wind, frost, long exposure to the sun, or simply at times when the skin feels tight and dry. The oil spreads easily and softens the skin. Because it is concentrated and richly coloured by carotenoids, it is best applied locally — to small areas where it is really needed. Before first use, it is sensible to test the reaction on a small patch of skin.

Combining both uses is perfectly possible — this does not contradict the product's purpose. The oil is not used during pregnancy and breastfeeding; if you have chronic conditions or allergies, it is worth consulting a specialist before taking it internally.
