Copper is a living material: in contact with air and water it gradually changes colour, darkens and develops a patina. This is not a defect or a sign of damage but a natural property of the metal. The SATTVA VASE KRUUS TEEMANT 300 sm mug is perfectly suitable for everyday use if you follow a few simple rules.
- Cleaning. Wash the mug regularly by hand. The classic method is to add a teaspoon each of lemon juice and salt to the mug, mix and wipe the surface with a sponge or cloth (the outside is cleaned the same way), then rinse thoroughly with clean water. This helps remove darkening and refresh the surface.
- Do not leave drinks in it for long. Water left for several hours (for example, overnight) is the traditional Ayurvedic way of using copper vessels. But leaving drinks in the mug for a long time without need is not recommended.
- Acidic liquids. Copperware is less suitable for acidic drinks — juices, fruit compotes, kefir: acid reacts more actively with the metal. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Dishwasher. Copper items are generally not dishwasher-safe — harsh detergents and high temperatures speed up oxidation and can damage the surface.
With proper care, the mug will keep both its functionality and its distinctive look for a long time.
