The product is positioned as an ointment for skin care; the label gives no restrictions on the area of application and states only that it is for external use only. In theory this includes areas of the face where the skin tends to dryness: the sides of the nose, the corners of the lips, the skin above the upper lip in the cold season.
The composition is simple: rapeseed oil, spruce wood extract (spruce resin), beeswax and alcohol. Beeswax forms a thin protective film and rapeseed oil softens the surface — both ingredients are widely used in lip and face cosmetics. However, spruce resin is a substance with a pronounced smell and a dense texture, and facial skin, especially around the eyes, may react to resinous ingredients differently from the skin of the hands or heels.
If you want to try the ointment on the face, it is sensible to start with a small area — for example, apply a little to the skin at the side of the nose and wait a few hours. This is especially relevant if your skin is reactive or you have experience of intolerance to resinous substances or bee products.
The ointment is not intended for application to mucous membranes and must not get into the eyes. If irritation appears, stop applying it.
